Our Wholehearted Beginning
Whole Birth Approach is the brain child of Taylor LeBlanc and Megan Tasker. Inspired by the intelligence of the body and the integral role movement plays for coping strategies in conception, to labour, to postpartum healing. These two birth workers and childbirth educators have created a one-of-a-kind curriculum.
"Our goal is to provide members with the tools they need to feel confident and prepared to make informed choices as they face both the challenges and the joys on their path to parenthood."
Taylor launched her career in Toronto in 2013, supporting birth and postpartum clients. She is passionate about providing empowering and nurturing care to all families as they encounter the demands of early parenthood. Recently she moved back to her second home in Montreal, Canada to pursue further education to continue supporting families. Before Doula work, Taylor studied Dance in the fine arts department of Concordia University. While living there she began working with the YMCA eventually becoming the Leadership Program Director with YMCA Kanawana. This is where she discovered her passion for facilitation and education.
Taylor is a Birth& Postpartum Doula, certified Childbirth Educator, as well as a professionally trained and certified Pre/Postnatal Yoga Teacher. Her ability to fuse these modalities with patience and compassion leads her clients’ to express confidence in the ever-evolving expectations of adjusting to early parenting.
On a Sunday afternoon you would easily find Taylor collecting vintage clothes, redecorating her space and having a great cup of coffee (or red wine!)
Having been a doula and childbirth educator for three years prior to giving birth to her son, Megan had hoped she might be spared some of the many challenges faced by new parents. However, despite her work experience, she quickly learned she was not immune to many of the same difficulties as her clients from trying to conceive, to breastfeeding. Parenthood asks many of us to make difficult decisions, to better understand our priorities and to let go of our attachments. Due to the challenges Megan experienced, she has a unique and truly empathetic perspective to help support her clients through their own difficulties, whether it be while trying to conceive, during pregnancy, birth or postpartum.
A childbirth and infant sleep educator, doula, yoga instructor, and a single mother by choice, Megan is passionate about supporting expectant parents, no matter their family structure, through this life changing journey. Megan is an enthusiastic, and non-judgmental support, who infuses her classes with humour, lively dialogue, and is sensitive to the unique needs and desires of the families who've entrusted Whole Birth Approach to help them transition into parenthood. Before getting in to birth work, Megan spent over a decade working in research focussing much of her energy in maternal and sexual health. She holds a Masters degree in Sociology.
