Newborn Baby 101

Pregnancy is a time busy with preparations and celebrations for your upcoming birth, but it can also offer you the chance to reflect on your life once your new little one has arrived! In this workshop we will pick up where most prenatal classes leave off.  You will be encouraged as you learn more about infants and their needs, and reflect on both your excitement and worries as you approach the day you will meet your baby. This workshop is perfect for expecting parents, grandparents and other caregivers. This class is offered six times a year at Toronto Yoga Mamas. What you can expect from the class:

  • What to expect the first 24 hours after birth and up to the first 8 weeks postpartum

  • Diapering, Bathing and skin care

  • Normal newborn care

  • Sleep options and safety

  • Comforting new babies

  • Developmental leaps (sleep regressions and growth spurts)

  • Practical suggestions for breast and bottle feeding

  • Postpartum healing - what to expect, what helps, what to avoid

  • Relationship changes - expectations, strategies, and how to avoid pitfalls
